My friend Ofri is a really super cool letterpress printer in Berkeley! She gave a lecture on the letter J, so I drew her these J's for her slideshow. Later she printed them in color and everything! And mailed them to me with a computer printout of a picture of her kitchen floor.
I made an animated video flier, and all four of these acts are iiiincredible! If you are in Chicago and you know where the mysterious venue Situations is, don't miss this.
Hey coool! The music video I made for my friends, The Hecks, premiered today on Impose:
"If you're looking for some lowkey, drum-driven vibes on this first Friday in March, look no further than this video premiere for The Hecks song "Trust and Order." Directed by Jenna Caravello, the whole video has a Wayne's World extreme closeup vibe, with intense shots of the band, Zach Hebert and Andrew Mosiman, performing in an unidentifiable room. Dig it.
The Hecks debut 7-inch is called Trust and Order through Moniker Records and you can pick that bad boy up here."
Lyra Hill and I made this poster together for Brain Frame 10. Brain Frame is a performative comics reading that happens here in Chicago every other month. I've been documenting them with my little camera from the back of the room since the second one.
The poster got a shout out on Printed Matters recently.
My friend Justin Fernandez makes beautiful songs, and on Friday he is releasing a 7" through Lake Paradise Records. As a promotion I made this music video. Justin's songs make me feel displaced, like laughing at something very sad because the timing was just so. Or like how, depending on circumstance, your surroundings affect your mood just as often as you imagine your mood reflected in a cloudy day.
